Nicola

principal of grazia academy
As the principal, I am very eager to share my passion with like-minded students of all abilities. I started my long love for dance as a young girl, attending a local dance academy in Birmingham.
I gained lots of experience there, performing in numerous shows, competitions and taking exams.

I was also selected to travel to Russia, where I got to learn about their culture in the performing arts and performed in a festival that was broadcasted on their national television.

More recently I have trained and gained my teaching qualifications in the following:

Ballet- L.A.B.D
Acrobatic Arts - Module 1 & Module 2, Aerial and Back handspring
Alixa flexibility - Module 1, Module 2 & Module 3
Contemporary A.A.B.D

Miss hayley

Hi everyone, I’m Miss Hayley, I teach Ballet, Pointe work, Tap, Jazz & Acro here at Grazia.
I started dancing when I was 7 years old after being asked to perform some gymnastics (my first chosen hobby I started when I was 3) in my younger sister's dance show. Here I found my love for dance, I joined the dance school taking classes in ballet, tap, modern, lyrical, national and Greek. I began to regularly attend workshops, residential Easter Schools and Summer Schools. I enjoyed being on stage and competed in competitions, including championships across the country most weekends. I also performed in many shows, pantomimes and with the English Youth Ballet.

At 16 I decided to make a career out of dance and successfully auditioned for full time schools. I went to The Hammond School in Chester where I did a professional dance and teacher course alongside my A Level's. I studied all styles of dance, classical, musical theatre and theory, anatomy, physiology and benesh notation. I was chosen to be part of the Hammond Touring Company and went to perform in Germany. Unfortunately, in my final term I got injured and was unable to pursue my dream of being a dancer. I decided to teach and pass on my knowledge and passion for dance.

My first teaching job was in Norway, teaching ballet, tap, jazz and choreographing for theatre productions. I then came back to England to open my own dance school. When I became a mother my focus changed, I wanted to spend more quality time with my children so I sold the school.

In 2016 I had a meeting with Nicola and my Grazia journey began!
I have taken many examinations in various styles and have a high level of qualifications and teaching qualifications with the R.A.D & I.S.T.D & I.D.T.A & A.B.D.

I love working with children seeing the enjoyment dance brings and what can be achieved with dedication and hard work.

Miss Natalie

Hi everyone, I’m Miss Natalie and I teach Commercial and Contemporary classes here at Grazia.
I started dancing at a stage school from the age of 3 studying tap, ballet, modern, jazz and singing where I managed to perform at two Royal Variety performance’s in front of the Queen and Princess Anne, in various ITV dramas ( Boon, Woof and CITV) and lots of theatre productions at the Alexander Theatre including Cats, The Wizard of Oz , Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Magic Flute and Aladdin.

After studying Dance and Performing Arts at GSCE and A-Level at King Edwards Grammar School, I then went on to study Dance at the University of Roehampton in London where I gained a 1st. It was here that I also managed to secure lots of work as a dancer and was luckily enough to perform as a backing dancer in concerts and in videos for artist’s such as The band ‘Blue’, A Body Double/ Backing Dancer for Kylie Minogue, Head Trainer/Performer for Nike Fit Dance Workout UK and 5 Star to name a few.

My passion for teaching started as I landed a job teaching Children’s parties, as well as Nike Workouts in gyms and I then decided that I would do this full-time. I have never looked back! After 4 amazing years of managing my own Dance studio in London and becoming a Zumba Master Trainer, I then decided to come back to the West Midlands to be close to family........ and here I am!

I look forward to teaching fun, energetic and expressive dance to all ages and abilities. I teach workshops and general Dance PE sessions in main-stream schools as well as special needs schools everyday as well as ‘studio’ classes, I just love teaching dance and seeing the determination on the students faces.

Miss sophie

Hi everyone, I am Sophie-Jane and I teach Ballet & En Pointe here at Grazia.
I trained privately as a professional dancer under the teaching of one of the UK’s top ballet teachers. Although I did not have the opportunity to attend a vocational ballet school, my training still allowed me to audition for ballet companies such as English National Ballet.

Whilst auditioning for professional jobs, I sadly sustained a career altering injury to which I had to stop dancing. Having always enjoying teaching, I wanted to pursue this further. With a fun a more ‘holistic’ approach to teaching classical ballet I have successfully trained dancers who have been awarded place at;
The Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst ballet School, Central School of Ballet, Tring Park, Kings International Ballet, The Royal Ballet Associate programme and Elmhurst Young Dancers programme.

Having made it through a three part interview and audition process, I’m proud to say I was awarded one of only 12 places with the Royal Ballet School on the Diploma of Dance Teaching course. I have just started the two-year course in London at the Royal Ballet Upper School, Covent Garden.

I love working with and encouraging a positive and safe environment in which all students can feel empowered. I’m super excited to start my journey here with you all at Grazia.

Miss Rachael

Hi everyone, I am Miss Rachael. I am very happy to be part of the Grazia family.
I started dancing aged 7 at Severn Valley School of Dance, Bridgnorth. At 16 I went to Laine Theatre Arts dance college in Epsom and graduated 3 years later with a Diploma in Dance. A few weeks after graduating I was truly fortunate to land myself a contract with Costa Cruise Lines and caught the travel bug after sailing around Europe and South America.

I went on to live in Cyprus working for Mondiele Entertainment, performing in a touring Irish show. I later returned to the seven seas traveling all over the world with Carnival Cruise Lines.

Following on from this I started working for Princess Cruises and was quickly promoted to Cast Manager. During my time at Princess Cruises, I was lucky enough to perform in two shows created by Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked, Godspell, and Pippin.) The second of which was also created and directed by John Tartaglia. (Puppeteer, actor, singer, and dancer whose Broadway credits include Avenue Q and Disney's Beauty and the Beast.)

Between contracts, I have always enjoyed coming back to the UK to teach.

Richard

I started my journey in the dance world in 2009 when I met Nicola. I soon became involved in her industry and love for dance.
I have always had a passion for fitness, and I admire the physical strength that Grazia dancers show in all styles of dance. After considering these two factors, I decided to support Nicola further by taking part in several training days, earning my qualifications in Acrobatics Arts Module 1 and Module 2. At the dance school I now enjoy teaching body conditioning, Acrobatic Arts, and tumbling classes.

I have loved bringing my new skills to the team, especially by helping support senior dancers with their tumbling tricks, and it gives me great satisfaction seeing the dancers get stronger each week.
