If someone had told me 7 years ago when I opened Grazia that my little dance school would qualify to represent England and share the stage with some of the best dancers in the world I would have laughed.
I auditioned the dancers in secret and after everything the industry has been through in the past 18 months it was the best feeling to surprise the dancers with the news we had qualified back in April, since then collectively as a teacher working alongside my dedicated dancers and the commitment from parents we managed to tick something off my bucket list as we came away with 1st placed world champions in the Junior Large Acro group.
The journey we have shared together has been everything I expected and more.
1st Place - Run Boy Run.
We also received special invite to perform at the end of the DWC competition Gala.
5th Place - The Tribe small group Acro
5th Place - Hannah Acro solo (only being 14 and competing against experienced DWC dancers 3yrs older than her)
Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us, with our fundraiser, sending messages and coming along to watch us at compete live at the competition. Also thank you to my amazing dancers that I got to share this amazing experience with, I hope I helped make your dreams come true.
To my amazing teachers and our receptionist Kath, I don’t have enough words to thank you, some of you have become my closest friends and I wouldn’t have wanted to share this moment with anyone else, except of course my amazing partner Richard that is always there supporting absolutely everything I and we as a school do. You are amazing and such a great role model not only to our own boys but to so many of the young dancers, Thank you!
